Update: 3/29/2013

  • The PRWG continues to meet and make progress on ascertaining which sets of proprietary records libraries may freely add their holdings to without worrying about breaking an agreement. Below is the list of record providers that have recently been cleared:
    • Credo Reference
    • Henry Stewart Talks
    • Morgan and Claypool Publishjers
    • Oxford University Press
    • World Bank E-Library

Update: 12/5/2012

  • We've had some inquiries about the scope of what the Proprietary Records Working Group was established to do. Our task is simply to ascertain which sets of proprietary records libraries may freely add their holdings to without worrying about breaking an agreement. See the Chart of Records Useability for the proprietary records sets whose "sharability" we've determined so far.
  • A small sub-group of the PRWG (Jean Phillips, Ellen Bishop, and Kimberly Montgomery) will work with other groups as appropriate to develop policies for coding information into the MARC records that indicates to what use other libraries might make of proprietary records. They will also work with the Shared Bib group to determine the best way to make this information available to all who need it.
